Wastewater treatment and post-treatment
Chandwin Engineering is experienced in the use of biological treatment for drinking water. Bioreagents such as ECOBIOCORE-10™ degrade complex organic pollutants to carbon dioxide and environmentally friendly products of microbial metabolism, thus reducing wastewater treatment time, eliminating odours (anaerobic process) and significantly reducing or even preventing the formation of toxic gases such as ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, and methane.
Biological methods use certain non-pathogenic microorganisms to remove methane, ammonia, iron and manganese and use oxygen instead of chlorine or other chemical oxidising agents. Biological processes have zero environmental impact and low operating costs, and produce no harmful by-products such as trihalomethanes. Biological stabilisation, on the other hand, is a simple process that produces no undesirable by-products.
The use of products containing probiotic microflora for pre-treatment of wastewater can reduce the main contamination indicators of water entering the biological treatment and increase the overall efficiency of mechanical and biological treatment.
